Hi Kanan,
I have not tried using mult-layer bins in my Instant Pot but I have heard of people getting pretty creative with that. I might have to give it a try.
Let me know if you do it – would love to hear about it.

Hello Neena,

Thanks for the clear break down of information. I was recommended instant pot by a colleague and came online to research. Obviously making decision for something you have never bought before, can be overwhelming but your blog help me narrow down my choice. I will research more about accessories, as I was curious to know if you can do multi-layer bins in one pot. let me know if you have already explored that.

thanks and have a wonderful day!
Kanan

Hi Richard,

Glad I could help! Do let me know how you like the Instant Pot Ultra 6 Quart – and also how the cake comes out.

I am glad you found a fabulous deal at Kohl’s, it definitely pays to comparison shop (especially if you have a Kohl’s coupon code to add on as well).

I will post both my affiliate links here – for people that are interested:

Instant Pot Ultra 6 at Kohl’s

Instant Pot Ultra 6 at Amazon

Have a great day!

YES, you are right! I think I would be better off with the Instant Pot Ultra 6 Quart 10 in 1. Again, glad I checked with you! I am returning my Instant Pot DUO 6 Quart today. (Glad I did not use it yet.) I ended up ordering the 6 Quart 10 in 1 per your advice today. I found it for $121. 51 at Kohls with coupon codes. Can’t wait to try the cake function. If I do it before you, I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks again for ALL your Great Advice Neena! Richard

Hi Richard,

I am so happy that my article helped you out – and thank you so much for letting me know!

Honestly, I have never made a cake in my Instant Pot. I actually have two of the 6 Quart IP Duo units – so no experience with the LUX.

However, there is one more option that you may want to look at. Just last week, I noticed yet another Instant Pot model on Amazon – the {affiliate link} Instant Pot Ultra 6 Quart 10 in 1 cooker – and it does have a Cake function.

I think it is one of their newest models.

Let me know if you decide on the LUX or another model – and also how the cake comes out. I think I might try making one in my Instant Pot as well.

Thanks for subscribing to the newsletter – and if there is ever any specific topic that you would like to hear about – let me know.

Have a great weekend!

This is the only site which I found the most information on which Instant Pot to buy. Wish I had found your site before my purchase. I recently purchased the Instant Pot 6 Quart Duo as a starter user. I also purchased just about every Instant Pot 6 Quart Duo Accessory available including a round and square silicone cake pans. I saw different websites that showed cakes being made in the Instant Pot 6 Quart Duo. It did not look like the cakes came out that well. The videos showed you also had to cover the cake pan with a silicone lid or the water from the Instant Pot would get into the cake mix making them useless. After reading your site, I had no idea there was an instant pot made especially for cakes: Instant Pot IP-LUX60 V3. Today, I was going to buy the Instant Pot 8 Quart Duo on sale at Kohl’s today 10/26/17 for $118.71 with coupon codes (Great Price….No?) Anyway, after reading the information on your website I would probably be better off getting the Instant Pot IP-LUX60 V3 for making cake mixes. Neena, do you have any experience or recommendations with regards to cake mixes in the Instant Pot? Thank you very much for all your Instant Pot information that helped me tremendously! I have subscribed to your newsletter. Thank you very much Neena! Richard.

Hi Shelly,
Congratulations on your new Instant Pot purchase! I really do like mine – I have 2. 🙂 Last night I had both of them going at the same time. I found that there are many recipes that I can modify to use in the Instant Pot which is great, especially when I am short on time.
Enjoy!

I ordered the IP 3Lux. Not here yet. But I’m single. I can always cut a recipe and love what I’m finding for recipes.
Hope the love affair continues when it comes.
